Synaesthete is a very experimental 3D rhythm game. You run through a computer world trying to kill hordes of enemies flying at you. To kill them, though, you have to play the beat of the song in the background using J, K, and L. Each beat will send out a shot that will try to kill the enemies. There are four different stories to play and each one has a reason why you are killing the enemies. Every couple levels you must verse a boss with a hard beat to play. There are also "spells" that you can use to do everything from going back in time, to growing 5 times your original size! As you play through levels you can unlock more spells. The graphics are extremely clean, and gameplay is very smooth. More than you would expect from a free game. The game was programmed by a bunch of college students, who wrote the music, and the code.

The Highlight:  Some-what depressing messages. In between all the areas there are messages that make you think...
